Bellingham: “Madrid kit feels like a superhero costume”
Jude Bellingham, the acclaimed player from Real Madrid, expressed to ‘France Football’ following his Kopa Trophy win, likening his team’s current uniform to that of a superhero outfit.
“The kit itself is just so famous almost feels like a super suit,” he said.
Jude Bellingham, the acclaimed talent from both Real Madrid and the England national team, clinched the Kopa Trophy for the top player under 21 during last season at the Ballon d’Or event held in Paris on Monday.
The 20-year-old has been in stellar form since joining Real Madrid, notably scoring two goals in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the Clasico, bringing his tally to 13 goals in his initial 13 matches for the esteemed Spanish club.
In an interview with ‘France Football,’ the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder shared his thoughts about his transition to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and the experience of playing for one of the most esteemed clubs in the world.
“The truth is, I’ve never really been someone to be starstruck or like, in awe of people. But when you come here with the things that they’ve achieved, it’s hard not to feel like, wow, this is like the pinnacle of football,” he said.
Moreover, he spoke about what it feels like to wear a Real Madrid shirt: “The kit itself is just so famous. When you have it on, it almost feels like a super suit, you know, you’ve got it on. And I think that for me the word that comes to mind is like privilege.
He went on to add: “Not many players get to play for Real Madrid specially. You know, you have to have a certain level of quality to be able to wear that shirt. So to be given that trust week in, week out, to wear the shirt feels so good. It’s a real honour.”
