After securing a a Champions League semi final slot on Wednesday night, Zidane’s short clear response after setting up Champions League semi-final against Chelsea is a sign of an entertaining clash.

The Blues will face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals later this month after they knocked out Liverpool on 3-1 on aggregate following Wednesday’s 0-0 draw at Anfield. Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane gave a short response after setting up the Champions League semi-final against Chelsea.

Zidane was asked about setting up the semi-final tie with the Blues after their 0-0 draw at Anfield in midweek and, unsurprisingly ,Zidane’s short clear response after setting up Champions League semi-final against Chelsea was unexpected. He remained very simple and brief in his response. The Frenchman said:

“Let’s enjoy a little first and rest a little rest. We have a lot of league games before Chelsea, but it’s going to be a very difficult game.”

Chelsea and Real Madrid have never battled their supremacy since the 1998 Super Cup when Chelsea won 1-0 courtesy of Gus Poyet’s late goal.

Both teams have a hectic line-up of fixtures ahead of their April 27 first-leg clash, with both teams keen on making to European final in Istanbul in May.

Thomas Tuchel who was the last season Champions League finalist with PSG secured a semi-final spot after eliminating Porto. After the match, Tuchel who is determined to play til the final said:

“You see when Chelsea was last in the semi-final. We are not used to being there. Once you are there, you play for the final. This is clear.

“We take every minute to learn and grow. You cannot improve without these experiences so we are doing it now during the process, while we are playing it.

“We’re in the competition and in the semi-final it is anyone’s competition. In the semi final, you need players fit, momentum, luck in the games.

“When you look at the scoresheet last week, you saw two players who scored their first goals in the competition. When you look at Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Benzema or Salah score, it is their 50th or 100th goal or something. We arrived with a very young team.

“We want a young team to turn it around. What a young team can do is run, fight and hang in there. It is an adventure for them. It is a big step to be here.”
