Worried Manchester United players, fearful of Erik ten Hag’s arrival, have besieged teammate Donny van de Beek with questions about their incoming manager.
Ten Hag, the manager of Ajax, is expected to be appointed as Manchester United’s new permanent manager in the coming days after verbally agreeing to take the job at Old Trafford.
Van de Beek rose through the ranks at Ajax under ten Hag and secured a £40 million move to United as a result of his strong form for the Dutch champions.

Van van Beek is said to have told his United teammates how demanding Ten Hag is to play for and that they will be in for a surprise when he takes over.
According to Mirror, a United source said: “The players have been asking Donny about Ten Hag because he’s played under him before. He told them his training sessions are on a different level to what they’ve been used to and they’ll have to run like they’ve never run before.
“Donny told them he’s really intense, a perfectionist, who does one-on-one training himself with the players. He controls every aspect of his players, including their diets. The basic message was he’s not one to cross – it sounds like one strike and you’re out.”
Van de Beek, a former Ajax player, is hoping to resuscitate his United career under his old manager, with whom he has a great relationship after working together at Ajax.
Van van Beek has struggled since joining United nearly two years ago, appearing in just one Premier League game this season before being loaned out.
He was not regarded favorably by former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or interim coach Ralf Rangnick, and he was loaned out to Everton in January in a desperate attempt to play and restore his international spot.
