Kevin Trapp is rumoured to be interested in joining  Manchester United  from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.

According to BILD journalist Florian Plettenberg, Frankfurt want to keep Trapp at Deutsche Bank Park despite the goalkeeper’s desire to join Manchester United.

Ten Hag is clearly looking to bolster his goalkeeping options at Old Trafford this summer, as David de Gea’s ability appears to be fading. In addition, United’s reserves include only 36-year-old Tom Heaton.

And it appears that Ten Hag has someone in mind to come in and provide proper competition for De Gea…

According to Kicker, United is planning a high-single-digit bid for Trapp (EURO). So, if it was €9.5 million, it would be £8 million. According to Sport 1, the Red Devils are willing to pay the 32-year-old close to £180,000 per week.

And, according to Florian Plettenberg, Erik ten Hag personally called Trapp to try to persuade him to join United this summer.

The Daily Star described Trapp as a “world-class” goalkeeper. In 460 career games, the German has allowed 574 goals while keeping 141 clean sheets.

He’s an excellent shot-blocker and a commanding presence in the air. The seasoned goalkeeper is also very good with his feet.

The 32-year-old also has plenty of winning experience, having won two league titles with Paris Saint-Germain.

Given Ten Hag’s desire to play out from the back, Kevin Trapp would be an ideal signing for Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether Frankfurt is willing to sell him in the final week of the window.

Plettenberg believes the German is eager to move to Old Trafford. And that’s always a huge help when it comes to completing a difficult transfer.
