Which matches will Casemiro miss after red card in Manchester United against Crystal Palace

Casemiro will miss three games for  Manchester United  after receiving a straight red card against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Brazilian was dismissed in the 70th minute after a VAR review of a melee between both teams sparked by Jeffrey Schlupp’s tackle on Antony.

Casemiro grabbed Will Hughes by the throat during the melee that ensued as a result of the confrontation, which infuriated United’s players.

According to Premier League regulations, players who receive a straight red card for violent conduct miss the next three games.

United led 2-0 at the time thanks to a penalty by Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford’s 19th goal of the season.

This season, he and Casemiro have been United’s two best players, and now Erik ten Hag will have to lead the team without their main man in the Premier League until their March 5 match against Liverpool.

This means he will miss the doubleheader against Leeds on Wednesday, February 9 and Sunday, February 12, as well as the February 19 match against Leicester. His suspension will have no effect on United’s away leg against Barcelona in the Europa League on February 16.

Casemiro will also be available for the second leg on February 23 and the Wembley League Cup final on February 26. The 30-year-old has already been suspended for one game after missing last month’s 3-2 loss to Arsenal due to yellow card accumulation.

United will be without two key midfielders during a busy portion of the season as a result of this new punishment and Christian Eriksen’s injury-related absence.
