What Zinedine Zidane has ‘told Man Utd’ about replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjear after receiving approach

According to Express Sport, Zinedine Zidane has responded to Manchester United’s approach by stating that he will be available at the end of the season.

United are looking for a potential replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but are limited in their current options.

According to reports on Wednesday, the Red Devils had accepted the need to find a new manager.

However, with notable candidates unwilling to take over in the middle of the season, Solskjaer may be able to keep his job until the end of the season, depending on how bad things get.

It would enable United to develop a succession plan and identify a variety of options in the coming months.

Despite his current availability, Zidane is one of those who could be interested in taking over as manager next summer.

According to  BILD’s Christian Falk, United approached Zidane about becoming their new manager.

However, the 49-year-old explained that he does not believe it is the right time for him to take on such a task in the Premier League.

Zidane has informed the United board that he wishes to take a break until the summer, implying that this is when he will be available again.

And his apparent willingness to return to Manchester at the end of the season may persuade the club to stick with Solskjaer for the time being.

One thing to keep in mind is that by the end of May, there will be other options besides Zidane.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United admire Erik ten Hag, who is many supporters’ first choice to replace Solskjaer.

He could be ready for a new challenge at the end of another successful season with Ajax.

Brendan Rodgers and Luis Enrique may also be easier to target, with the former appearing to be United’s preferred name.

Solskjaer is on the verge of losing his job, and despite the club’s obvious desire to keep him until the end of the season, things can’t get any worse.

The trips to Watford, Villarreal, and Chelsea before hosting Arsenal are all likely to be difficult and could put an end to Solskjaer’s revival hopes for good.

But, if United can get through those games, an enticing run over the next few months offers a great chance to get back on track.

If United can recover to meet their goals this season, the club’s stance on replacing Solskjaer may change.

However, that is currently unlikely, as there will be a number of viable managerial upgrades ready to take over next summer.
