What Thomas Tuchel and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did ahead of Arsenal’s 1-0 win at Chelsea.

The Gunners booked a third successive Premier League victory for the first time since January with a 1-0 away win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
Emile Smith Rowe’s second goal in as many trips was sufficient to seal all three points for the Gunners, inflicting just a third defeat on Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel took charge towards the end of January.
Smith Rowe was the patron of an expensive mistake by Chelsea midfielder Jorginho and had the easy task of rolling the ball home from close range.
His 16th-minute strike confirmed to be the contrast between the two sides, despite Chelsea affecting plenty of pressure in the second half and hitting the woodwork twice as the game entered its closing stages in their search for an equalizer.
Arsenal however managed to endure that level of pressure to complete a remarkable league double over the Blues for the first time since the 2003/04 campaign, ensuring they wrapped up the local bragging rights ahead of making the journey back to north London.

Ahead of kick-off, though, rivalries were put to one side, certainly between Tuchel and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The two were reunited ahead of the contest getting underway by the side of the pitch and embraced with a hug.
Tuchel and Aubameyang worked together at German giants Borussia Dortmund before Tuchel was fired by the Bundesliga club in May 2017.
The Gabon international established himself to be one of the best players in the German top-flight whilst working under Tuchel’s stewardship and has earlier praised his managerial excellence.
“He is one of the best coaches I have ever had, I cannot deny his talent,” Aubameyang told SFR Sport back in 2018. “He could be a good fit with PSG, but if he goes on the adventure, we’ll have to see how he keeps the changing room together, I think that’s the hardest thing at a big club.
He is a bit crazy, just like me.”
What was apparent to see ahead of kick-off is that the two still have a strong bond and respect for each other, with them spotted by the TV cameras having a hug and a catch-up.
Tuchel apparently wasn’t feeling so friendly towards Aubameyang after just 16 minutes though, as it was the Gabon international that claimed the assist for Smith Rowe’s winner to seal a huge three points for Mikel Arteta’s side.
