What Jesse Lingard told Ole Gunnar in a private meeting about his future.
Jesse Lingard has revealed to his United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he wants to stay at Manchester United in an open meeting about his future.
Lingard, who has been at Old Trafford since the age of eight, joined Premier League opponents West Ham on loan in January after sliding down Solskjaer’s pecking order.
The 28-year-old enjoyed a dazzling spell in east London, scoring nine goals and making four assists in 16 games to almost forcing his way into England’s Euro 2020 team.
While Gareth Southgate finally overlooked Lingard, his form has influenced Solskjaer and pushed the Red Devils manager to review whether the player has a future at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, Lingard lately held a candid meeting with Solskjaer and informed him he would ideally stay at Manchester United, where he has won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Europa League.

Hammers manager David Moyes is keen to sign Lingard on a permanent transfer and, while Lingard has not ruled that out, he would prefer to remain at the Theatre of Dreams.
Lingard, 28, admitted he had to leave Old Trafford in the short-term if he wanted first-team football, and he was an immediate success at West Ham.
But despite also having an excellent relationship with Hammers boss David Moyes, he has talked to friends his big dream is to rebuild his United career.
Solskjaer has never slammed the door on his doing so, but Lingard is also aware that with new faces set to arrive this summer, he is still far from guaranteed a regular start.
Juan Mata is another United star with a big decision to make, after being offered a new deal – but with a pay cut to his current £170,000-a-week salary.
