What Chelsea fans chanted as Wesley Fofana ends Premier League goal drought vs Leeds
Chelsea have put an end to their goal drought in the Premier League with a goal scored by Wesley Fofana, who headed in a corner kick from Ben Chilwell against Leeds.Â
In their previous 10 Premier League games, Chelsea had only scored two goals, with their last one being in a draw against West Ham on February 11.
Despite the January signings of Joao Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke, Chelsea have struggled to score goals and are among the lowest-scoring teams in the English top flight this season.
This has resulted in a string of poor results, which has put pressure on Graham Potter.
Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have been urged to dismiss Potter, who took over from Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge only a few months ago.
However, Fofana’s goal has relieved some of the crowd’s frustration after a lackluster first half display resulted in the team being booed off the pitch at half-time.
Additionally, after Fofana’s goal gave Chelsea the lead, fans responded positively by chanting in support of the team. “We’ve scored a goal, we’ve scored a goal, we’ve scored a goal!”
Potter seemed visibly relieved to witness his team score and take the lead against Leeds, recognizing that this win could be a significant one for him and the Blues, especially if they manage to secure all three points by the end of the match.
