What Arsenal fans sang about Steven Gerrard at Emirates Stadium in 2-1 victory

As reported by BBC Sport on Thursday morning, several Arsenal fans at the Emirates Stadium chanted about Steven Gerrard losing his Aston Villa managing position.

Wednesday evening at the Emirates Stadium in North London, Arsenal played Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The match was won by Arsenal, 2-1.

The result maintains Arsenal’s perfect record in the Premier League this season, but also intensifies the pressure on Villa’s manager, Gerrard.

There is a chance that the Villans could be involved in a relegation battle if their performances and results do not improve quickly.

Some Arsenal supporters chanted during yesterday night’s game that Gerrard will be fired by Villa today.

According to  BBC Sport, Arsenal supporters screamed to Villa manager Steven Gerrard during the first half, “You’re getting fired in the morning.”

Wednesday evening’s 2-1 loss to Arsenal dropped Aston Villa to nineteenth place in the Premier League table.

Gabriel Jesus continued his good goal-scoring form as he gave the home team the lead midway through the first half, 15 minutes before Douglas Luiz equalized the score.

Gabriel Martinelli retook the lead for the Gunners a few minutes later, ensuring that the Gunners would take home the well-deserved three points.

If Leicester City defeats Manchester United on Thursday evening, the claret and blue will be relegated to the basement of the Premier League standings, having won only one of their first five games.

What Aston Villa fans are saying

@DanMatthewsAV: “Sack him now. Forget the result, that performance was absolutely horrific and just another example through 2022 that he isn’t the man for the job. We’re getting worse game by game.”

@mahomezs: “our best hope of a goal is luiz scoring a corner because gerrard is that bad we literally cannot create and chance if that isn’t a sackable offence i don’t know what is”

@surreyvillan: “You sacked the best thing that happened to this club in my lifetime for this rubbish? This is a Purslow vanity project gone horribly wrong, Gerrard simply isn’t close to being up to the level needed. Wes and Nassef, get him gone now and get Purslow gone while you’re at it #avfc”

@Snorrebrekke: “Nah im sorry but can he coach? What are we paying him for? I have never in my life seen a game where a team has 0 tactics. Its legit hoofing the ball up and crossing our fingers. How can our owners watch this. Please please get rid of Gerrard. This is so awful”

@stuartjharper: “Nothing about our situation is right. For SG to have a chance we need a forward, the definition of madness is to repeatedly play Watkins & Ings and expect goals. But conversely, a better manager would get better performances from this squad. The deficiencies are many #AVFC”

@dale_villain: “Well no-one really expected us to get a result tonight and based on the first half it could have been a lot worse. Second half performance was marginally better but still not a lot of idea. Substitutions

are predictable, no real tactics or a plan. It’s not looking good. #AVFC”

@LivetoinspireMo: Absolutely shocking performance. I even had more faith with smith as manager. Can’t believe we sacked him for this. #Avfc #GerrardOut”

@PjSteggles: “Lucas digne is the worst left back in the world”
