‘We’re together’: Gabriel Martinelli reacts to Arsenal transfer announcement
Gabriel Martinelli has ‘welcomed’ Marquinhos to Arsenal on his Instagram account, following the club’s announcement on Monday.
The 19-year-old joins Arsenal from Brazilian club Sao Paulo on a ‘long-term contract,’ according to the club’s official website.
The young forward should not feel too out of place at the Emirates because a few of his countrymen are already in the dressing room, attempting to make him feel as as ease as possible.
Martinelli himself moved to England from Brazil in 2019, thus he will undoubtedly be of great assistance to the club’s new South American star.
Regardless, this is the message Martinelli posted on his Instagram story after Marquinhos arrived.
‘Welcome, brother,” said Martinelli. “We are together.”
When Martinelli initially arrived in the Premier League, things were not going well for the agile forward.
During Mikel Arteta’s tenure, he struggled a lot, including suffering through a severe injury phase around the time the pandemic hit.
But, with time, patience, and the proper people around him, he is now prospering in Arsenal colours and on his way to becoming a regular.
And Marquinhos will very certainly go through the same thing because he is still a long way from the first team.
It would be intriguing to see if the club decides to loan him out again this summer or enable him to experience English football next season, even if he only gets a few minutes.
In any case, the Gunners have their first new face for next season, but it’s not what the fans want because a proven striker is needed, with Gabriel Jesus’ name being mentioned.
