Watch Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli Score First International Goal For Brazil vs Colombia
On Thursday night, Gabriel Martinelli achieved his inaugural goal in his senior international career.
The momentous occasion took place three minutes into Brazil’s World Cup qualifying match against Colombia in Barranquilla.
Positioned near the left touchline, the Arsenal winger skillfully navigated the ball just inside the Colombia half.
Demonstrating impressive ball control, Martinelli embarked on a five-second dribble, engaging in a seamless exchange of passes with Vinicius Junior twice. Finally, he executed a composed sliding finish from a distance of 14 yards.

Upon witnessing his shot finding the net, Martinelli promptly sprinted directly to Vinicius.
The two wingers were quickly joined by teammates such as Raphinha and Bruno Guimaraes, as the collective celebration unfolded for Brazil.
However, Brazil’s joy was short-lived during Thursday’s match. In the 26th minute, Vinicius had to leave the field due to a suspected thigh injury.
Unfortunately, Colombia mounted a comeback in the second half with two headed goals from Luis Diaz, securing a 2-1 victory. With Vinicius now facing uncertainty and unlikely to play against Argentina on Tuesday, Brazil’s challenges increased.
Martinelli, who debuted for Brazil in March the previous year, had accumulated seven senior international appearances before the recent game.
Despite not having scored for his country prior to Thursday, Martinelli showcased his goal-scoring prowess with 16 goals for Arsenal at the club level in the last season.
