A video sent to  Teledeporte’s official Twitter account reveals what Tottenham Hotspur’s Cristian Romero said to Lionel Messi after he won the World Cup.

Romero was a crucial contributor to Argentina’s successful campaign in Qatar and a rock at the back throughout the entire tournament.

Under Lionel Scaloni, the Tottenham star started every group stage game and was only substituted once.

Yesterday, the 24-year-old appeared to savor such a momentous event as Argentina defeated France on penalties following a 3-3 draw.

Despite the fact that La Albiceleste were in perfect control for the entire of the match, the contest may go down as the greatest World Cup final ever.

Messi and Angel Di Maria’s goals in the first half propelled Argentina to a dominant position. Kylian Mbappe, though, took matters into his own hands and scored two stunning goals for France in the final ten minutes of the match.

Romero and Argentina were required to play an additional 30 minutes, and Messi believed he had won after scoring in the seventeenth minute of extra time.

However, his Paris Saint-Germain teammate delayed the celebration one more by completing his hat trick from the penalty spot.

Emiliano Martinez proved to be the hero during the penalty shootout, as Argentina earned the right to hoist the sport’s most prestigious prize.

Romero welcomed the PSG star with a bear hug as Messi was basking in the joy of finally winning the World Cup after such a sparkling career.

On their official Twitter account, Teledeporte uploaded a video of Romero sharing an emotional embrace with Messi on the field.

One may hear the Tottenham star saying: ”Te lo merecias,” which translates to “you deserved it” in English.

Romero appeared near to tears as he embraced Messi following Argentina’s thrilling penalty shootout victory.

The central defender has been dependable for Argentina over the previous two years, helping them win the World Cup once again.

Messi is a major fan of the Tottenham star, describing him as “extraordinary” after last year’s Copa America triumph.

Throughout the tournament, Argentina have rallied behind Messi and provided him with a good foundation to perform what he does best.

Romero will now return to Hotspur Way as a world champion, and his return will be met with mixed emotions in north London, as Hugo Lloris through World Cup anguish yesterday.
