Liverpool and Chelsea will meet in the season’s second cup final, and Roy Keane has no concerns about who will win.

In an interview with ITV Sport, the 50-year-old said:

“If any team’s going to beat Liverpool this season, it’ll have to be some effort.

“They’re relentless, the quality of the players, they look sharp, they look strong, great squad, great manager – they’ll take a lot of stopping. “

When asked if he thought Thomas Tuchel’s side was all of those things as well, the Irishman replied:

They’re not as strong and not as sharp as Liverpool”.

Host Mark Pougatch then asked for clarification as he said: “You don’t think so?” To which a strident Keane replied: “I know so.”

In their three meetings this season, there has been nothing to separate Chelsea and Liverpool, with each match finishing in a tie.

On May 14, they will renew rivalries for the fourth time in the 2021/22 season, and Keane believes Liverpool will come out on top.

If the Londoners want to win, Ian Wright has made it clear that being wasteful in the final third is just not an option for Chelsea.

“What’s going to be good about the final is there will be pure quality on both sides. They [Chelsea] will recognise the chances that you have to take. Against that calibre of team, you cannot miss chances. We’re still talking about what Liverpool are capable of winning, they can do whatever they want this team. It’s an unbelievable football team,” said the former Arsenal striker.
