Video: Ex-Premier League referee delivers his take on Kane disallowed goal
Dermot Gallagher, a former Premier League referee, stated that it felt like a lifetime while awaiting the VAR’s verdict on Harry Kane’s goal in the 95th minute on Wednesday night.
Kane scored in the last seconds of Tottenham’s match against Sporting Lisbon, presumably advancing Tottenham as Group D champions to the next round.
However, the goal was later disallowed for offside, which Gallagher described as a ‘factual’ ruling as opposed to an objective one such as a foul.
According to TV replay angles, he did concede that Kane appeared to be barely behind the ball.
🗣 "The decision they come to was that he was factually offside." ✅

It is simply one of those decisions you must move on from. It viewed the side. Perhaps it was, perhaps it wasn’t. Regardless of the outcome, Spurs must return to action next week against Marseille.
