Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has been at Carrington this week, putting the players through their paces during the first week of pre-season.
With numerous first team and youth players returning as early as June 27, the Dutchman has been getting to know United’s players.
Ten Hag has been joined by coaches Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren in their efforts to change the Red Devils’ mindset as well as teach them a new method of playing.
During Ten Hag’s first week at Carrington, Manchester United has shared short video clips of his training sessions.
Ten Hag reaches his hand to Victor Lindelof and refuses to let go
Ten Hag was seen shaking hands with Swedish defender Victor Lindelof and seemed to have struck an early friendship with the centre-back.
Ten Hag extended his handshake, clearly impressed by what he had seen from his new teammate.
Ten Hag is known for being a good man-manager, and Lindelof has the potential to grow under him, especially in the face of stiff competition at center-back.

Donny van de Beek appears drained following a training session
Donny van de Beek is the only Manchester United player who has worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax. That doesn’t make it any less difficult.
Van de Beek appeared fatigued as he left the practise field and was asked to speak a few words for the camera. He could only manage a smile and a nod.
Preseason is always a grind, and Ten Hag’s training are no exception. Van de Beek is certainly putting in the effort, which is good.

Ten Hag commands with authority
This clip is best viewed with the sound on, as Ten Hag’s voice clearly and authoritatively instructs the players on how to pass and move.
He’s not playing around, and he wants his guys to learn. That’s fantastic to see; these kids will get a lot of mental and physical knowledge from working under him.

David de Gea is in good shape
David de Gea is optimistic that an improved defence in front of him this season would make his job as Manchester United’s goalkeeper simpler than it was last season.
Nonetheless, he is motivated to be unbeatable in goal, as evidenced by this short goalkeeping drill in which he leaps to make a save.
De Gea was dissatisfied with last season, and properly so, and this is a fresh start. He appears to be in good spirits and eager to put 2021/22 behind him.
