Tuesday night at St. Mary’s, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s young side won 2-1 to maintain Chelsea’s inconsistent start to the new campaign.

The visitors opened the scoring through £50 million summer acquisition Raheem Sterling, who has scored three goals in his last two outings.

However, Southampton took the lead just 22 minutes later thanks to goals from Romeo Lavia and Adam Armstrong, although Chelsea’s effort to fight back after the interval was minimal.

Before this match, Chelsea had not lost in their previous nine away games against Southampton, winning seven and drawing twice on the South Coast.

Christian Pulisic makes ugly exit

Christian Pulisic marched directly down the tunnel today as his Chelsea team suffered another heartbreaking loss.

According to stadium fans, he was the only player who did not at least wave to the visiting spectators. Even though it is a simple gesture, it means a great deal to the fans.

These are the behaviors of a man who believes he is leaving the club, but with Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, and Callum Hudson-Odoi also on the verge of leaving or already gone, someone is going to get the short end of the stick.
