United’s Wan-Bissaka reveals why he voted for Luke Shaw in the Man United Players’ Player of the year award.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka says he’s been spurred by fellow full-back Luke Shaw after the left-back’s celestial displays made him the 2020/21 Players’ Player of the Year award and a place in England’s Euro 2020 squad.
Both Shaw and Wan-Bissaka were stand-out performers for much of the last campaign for United, with both even going on the scoresheet.
Strong defensive relays coupled with presenting outstanding support in attack and the creation of various goal chances United forwards led to rave reviews for the two players.
Wan-Bissaka pondered on his own campaign during a recent interview before the peak of the season and he also took time to celebrate the exploits of Shaw.

His performances, that pushes me as well, to compete with him to get the best out of all of us.
“He’s been positive throughout, making the most out of every game. He’s not taken his foot off the pedal, he’s kept going, pushed himself until the whistle goes. That’s good. He helps the team as well.”
Evaluating his own displays, Wan-Bissaka revealed:
“Every game, every step, that’s how I take it, to improve and push myself throughout.
“I feel I’ve done okay. I can feel it in myself, the confidence and excitement of when every game comes up. You want to play, you can’t wait to get the game started. You know what the team’s capable of, the performances we can all put together to get the result we want.
“My goal was a good feeling. I’ll never forget that. That’s the good moment out of this campaign, for me.
Discussing the team’s progress, Aaron added: “If you look at it from the last season, then we’re obviously finishing higher than third which is a good sign going forward. Now, it’s just the next step, next season.”
