‘Unbelievable quality” – James Maddison picks between former Liverpool star Luis Suarez and Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero
James Maddison, an attacking midfielder for Leicester City, chose former Liverpool star Luis Suarez over Manchester City great Sergio Aguero when given the option.
Maddison once played for Norwich City, a team that Suarez enjoyed competing against.
Suarez was a nightmare for the Canaries, scoring 12 goals against them in six games, including three hat-tricks.
Although Aguero is also a Premier League legend, Maddison chose the Uruguayan over the Argentine.
Maddison stated in a recent interview with Sky Sports (via Liverpool Echo):
“He was so tenacious, he wasn’t just pretty, he was nitty-gritty. He also had unbelievable quality. As an ex-Norwich player, I know he scored… I think score three hat-tricks or something ridiculous like that, so I’m going to go peak Luis Suarez.”
Before leaving for Barcelona in the summer of 2014, Suarez appeared in 133 matches with the Reds, scoring 82 goals and registering 46 assists. Only one League Cup was won during his tenure at Anfield.
Aguero, on the other hand, scored 260 goals in 390 total appearances for Manchester City across all competitions. Among other accolades, the Argentine won five Premier League titles with the Citizens.
