Djed Spence was acquired by Tottenham Hotspur from Middlesbrough during the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old defender joins the Premier League team after an outstanding loan season with Nottingham Forest in the Championship.

Spurs opted to invest £20 million in him after he helped them earn promotion to the Premier League.

Given Tottenham’s difficulties at right back, Spence was anticipated to be a vital starter.

However, the player’s possibilities at his new club have been extremely restricted.

The fact that he has played only three minutes in the league is insufficient for a player with his potential.

The teenage defender is currently being linked with a loan transfer away from Tottenham, with journalist Michael Bridge claiming that many teams could want to give him with a January exit path.

Additionally, he stated that Antonio Conte would have no difficulty allowing the player to depart. If it were up to him, the Italian would approve the fullback’s departure tomorrow.

Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: “You would say that five or six Premier League clubs would take him on loan, maybe even Forest.

“He would think, himself, that he wouldn’t want to go back down to the Championship but, if Spurs made him available for loan, I think they wouldn’t have a problem. They’d loan him out tomorrow.”

It appears that the 22-year-old has failed to satisfy his manager, therefore it will be intriguing to see if Spence can convince Conte with his performances on loan.

Spence is without a doubt an amazing player with a bright future in the sport. However, he must focus on his growth for the time being and acquire regular football, even if it means temporarily leaving Tottenham.
