Tottenham now have three stars on their deadline day shortlist, one of them is just ‘unplayable’

Dean Jones, a football journalist, claims Tottenham Hotspur have three players on their transfer deadline day shortlist: Adama Traore, Yannick Carrasco, and Dan James.

Tottenham has enjoyed a phenomenal transfer window thus far. Antonio Conte has already acquired seven new players, but it appears he wants to add one more before tonight’s 11 p.m. deadline.

Carrasco, James and Traore in Tottenham’s transfer deadline day

Ivan Perisic was signed by Tottenham this summer, and while not being their largest acquisition, he has the potential to be their best.

Perisic’s abilities as a left wingback are exceptional. He is a wonderful fit for Conte’s system, and the Italian is now searching for a player similar to Spurs’ new number 14 for the opposite wing.

Spurs have added Djed Spence to their roster, which currently includes Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty, and Lucas Moura.

Conte desires one more player, and Paratici has three candidates for this position on his transfer wish list.

Jones told GiveMeSport: “Spurs are looking for a right-sided version of Perisic.

“Carrasco and James have both been viewed for that role. Adama (Traore) has been too.”

Tottenham is undefeated in the league through five games, having won three and drawn two.

This is a fantastic start to the season, but they could have easily lost to Chelsea and West Ham.

This explains why, despite signing seven new players this summer, Conte is still looking to bolster his roster. A new right wing-back appears to be his top goal.

Carrasco and James are both good candidates for this position. Persuasively, the former provides a comparable counterbalance to what Perisic does on the opposing wing, making him an excellent choice.

However, if forced to choose, we would select Traore, who Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has deemed “unplayable.”
