Tottenham Hotspur now want to sign former Arsenal player who was sold for £10m

CMW reports that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur want to sign former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny from Juventus in the summer of 2023.

According to a report from an Italian news outlet, Tottenham are’very interested’ in the former Arsenal star and want to bring him to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the upcoming season and beyond.

Szczesny’s contract with the Italian giants expires in 2024, and Juventus has no intention of re-signing the Poland international goalkeeper.

Former Serie A champions Juventus have reportedly identified Guglielmo Vicario as a potential replacement for Wojciech Szczesny should he depart at the end of the current campaign.

Far-fetched speculation

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will likely not be signed by Tottenham Hotspur, in our opinion.

Szczesny is 32 years old, and while he is a very good goalkeeper, Tottenham is likely to sign a younger goalkeeper if they wish to add one.

Hugo Lloris and Fraser Forster are, after all, also in their 30s.

Moreover, Szczesny is a former Arsenal player who was sold to Juventus for £10 million in the summer of 2017 (The Guardian).

The Poland international will not want to move to Arsenal’s fierce North London rivals Tottenham and harm his relationship with the Emirates Stadium fans.
