Tottenham Hotspur identify four goalkeepers as Hugo Lloris replacement

Tottenham  are considering four potential replacements for their long-serving goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris.

Lloris has been with the club for 11 years and has played in 433 matches, a record that is only surpassed by seven players in Tottenham’s history. Despite being one of the best goalkeepers in the world for the past decade and a World Cup winner, his performance has declined recently, raising concerns about his future with the club.

With Lloris currently 36 years old and having less than 18 months left on his contract, Spurs may be looking for a new goalkeeper to take over on a long-term basis. According to football.london, Tottenham has identified four potential goalkeepers who could join the team in the summer.

Mike Maignan

Mike Maignan, a goalkeeper for AC Milan, has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Lloris on the French national team.

At 27 years old, Maignan is considered one of the top goalkeepers in the world, and he is expected to remain at the peak of his career for many years to come.

He first gained prominence while playing for Lille, where he helped the team win the Ligue 1 title in 2021. The following season, he won another league title with AC Milan and was named Goalkeeper of the Season in both leagues.

Georgi Mamardashvili

According to football.london, Tottenham has been monitoring Georgi Mamardashvili for a few years.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper is currently under contract with Valencia until 2027, but the club may be compelled to sell him due to their financial difficulties.

However, Mamardashvili’s future at Valencia may depend on whether the club can avoid being relegated from La Liga. At the moment, Valencia is in the relegation zone, two points behind the safety line.

David Raya

Tottenham is also said to have David Raya on their list of potential targets. The 25-year-old goalkeeper has had an impressive season, keeping eight clean sheets in the Premier League, which is only surpassed by Nick Pope, David de Gea, and Aaron Ramsdale.

Raya is a Spain international whose contract with Brentford expires in 2024, and there is a possibility that he may not renew it. If that were the case, Brentford may look to sell him in the summer while his market value is still high.

Robert Sanchez

Robert Sanchez, who burst onto the scene in late 2020, has become one of the most dependable goalkeepers in the Premier League. The 24-year-old has played in 86 league matches for Brighton and Hove Albion, recording 27 clean sheets.

His impressive performances have also earned him two caps for the Spain national team. Sanchez was included in Luis Enrique’s squad for both the 2020 European Championships and the recent World Cup held in Qatar.

Other options

Tottenham have also previously looked at the likes of Jan Oblak, Emiliano Martinez, Dean Henderson, Jordan Pickford, Alex Meret, Illan Meslier, and Altay Bayindir as potential options. Lloris has made 433 appearances for Tottenham, but concerns have risen about his recent form and potential decline.
