Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro sends one-word message to Sporting after knocking Arsenal out of Europa League

Pedro Porro, a defender for Tottenham Hotspur, was amazed by Pedro Goncalves’ impressive goal for Sporting against Arsenal.

Porro had previously played for Sporting before joining Tottenham on the deadline day in January, and he still has a fondness for his former Portuguese club.

Therefore, he may have been rooting for Sporting to win against Arsenal in the Europa League match.

This week, there was a photograph taken of Porro with Sporting players and staff at their London hotel. This reunion would have been a great opportunity for Porro to catch up with his old friends, having left the club only six weeks ago.

It would not be surprising if he wanted to participate in the celebrations following Sporting’s victory against Arsenal in the Europa League match.

A lot of people believed that Arsenal would win and progress to the quarter-finals of the Europa League. They had the advantage of playing at home for the second leg, after a 2-2 draw in Lisbon in the previous week. Therefore, the Gunners were heavily favored to win.

In the first half, Granit Xhaka scored a goal for Arsenal, which put them ahead and on track to advance. However, Pedro Goncalves scored a remarkable equalizer, receiving the ball at the halfway line and launching a stunning strike over Aaron Ramsdale and into the net.

The Sporting fans were ecstatic when Goncalves scored the equalizer, but that was just a prelude to even greater celebrations later that night. Sporting managed to take the game to extra time and ultimately won the match on penalties, with Antonio Adan saving Gabriel Martinelli’s shot.

As a result, Arsenal was eliminated from the competition, and Sporting advanced to the next round. Pedro Porro, who has a soft spot for his former club, was undoubtedly thrilled with the result.

Porro expressed his admiration for Goncalves’ amazing goal on Twitter, posting “what a goal” along with a heart-eyes emoji.

After Sporting’s victory in the shootout, he tweeted another message to congratulate his former club, using the Portuguese word “Parabens” and a series of green heart emojis.

These tweets demonstrate Porro’s continued affection for Sporting, even though he now plays for Tottenham.

The fact that his new team was not involved in the match probably made it even more enjoyable for him to celebrate Sporting’s victory.
