Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting CP are reportedly scheduled to meet on Wednesday, January 24, to discuss the signing of former Manchester City right-back Pedro Porro.

Tottenham  have a long-standing interest in the Spaniard and hope to sign him during the January transfer window.

According to the Portuguese journalist Bruno Andrade (via Sports Witness), the two clubs will discuss Porro’s transfer on Wednesday. It was noted that the meeting will determine whether or not the Spaniard arrives at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The former Manchester City defender has a release clause of €45 million, below which Sporting will not listen to offers. Due to Porro’s significance to Ruben Amorim’s squad, they are reluctant to sell him this month.

In addition, they believe the summer will present better opportunities to sell the right-back. He has made 24 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing 11 assists.

Two years remain on the Spaniard’s contract at Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Porro joined Manchester City in 2019 from Girona for a transfer fee of €12 million, but he has yet to play for the first team.

In 2019-20, he spent one season on loan with Real Vallodolid before beginning a two-year loan with Sporting. The  Primeira Liga giants  acquired him from City for €8.5 million last summer.
