Tottenham may be nearing the acquisition of Sporting CP wing-back Pedro Porro in the current transfer window, as the Portuguese club reportedly seeks a replacement for him.

In August, Conte described his ideal wing-back as “really important if you play with three at the back” and as someone who “in the past was a winger because in this situation they are good at one vs one.”

The initial stance from Sporting was that the £39.5million release clause must be paid in full, but there are reports that Tottenham has managed to negotiate a similar overall fee to be paid in instalments instead.
The Athletic reported that Tariq Lamptey is being considered as a potential replacement for Porro, and that contact has been made for a potential switch in the next week. While it remains uncertain if the transfer will be completed, it appears increasingly likely.
