According to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge, Tottenham is unlikely to dismiss Antonio Conte during the ongoing season unless the team experiences a prolonged period of poor performance.

Conte became the manager last year and performed exceptionally well by leading the team to a fourth-place finish on the final day of the season.

This season, he has also helped Spurs to achieve their best start to the Premier League campaign, and many believe they have the potential to compete for the title.

Despite their strong start to the season, Tottenham’s performance has become increasingly inconsistent, causing their campaign to falter.

They have been eliminated from all domestic and European competitions, leaving their only chance for redemption being a top-four finish in the Premier League.

However, they face competition from teams like Newcastle and Liverpool, who are not far behind in the table.

To secure a top-four finish, Tottenham will need to maintain consistency in their performances until the end of the season.

Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge believes that Antonio Conte is unlikely to be sacked by Tottenham mid-season, despite their recent inconsistency. Bridge suggests that unless the team goes through a period of poor results, Conte will remain in his position and see out his contract with Spurs.

He told GiveMeSport“I’d be surprised if there’s any change between now and the summer with Conte.

“I think Spurs would have to go on a poor run of results for him to be sacked and even then, I don’t think they’ve got the worst run to the end of the season.

“They’ve made big mistakes. They made a big mistake in the FA Cup. They’ve obviously got no cup commitments now.

“So I do believe they’ll be in the hunt for a top-four finish from now to the end of the season, which will probably keep him in his job for now.”

Despite Antonio Conte’s current position as Tottenham’s manager, he reportedly has no intention of extending his contract with the club beyond the current season.

Consequently, the club is already being linked with several potential replacements, including Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi, Luis Enrique, and former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino is currently the frontrunner for the job. During his previous stint with the club, the Argentine successfully turned Tottenham into a top-four team, consistently securing top-four finishes in the league.

He also led a title challenge in the 2016/17 season, ultimately finishing second, and guided the team to their best-ever performance in the Champions League, reaching the final in 2018/19, though they ultimately lost to Liverpool.
