Thomas Tuchel’s dream Chelsea starting lineup if both Aubameyang and Wesley Fofana complete Stamford Bridge move

Chelsea have until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday to complete their transfer business, with the Blues heavily linked with a number of exciting prospects who could form a fearsome squad for Thomas Tuchel to tinker with.

The west London club have already spent well over £100 million this summer, with deals for Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, and Gabriel Slonina, but their total spend could approach, if not exceed, £300 million.

Barcelona’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana, and Everton’s Anthony Gordon have all been linked with a move to West London.

Todd Boehly appears to be content to keep the chequebook open in the final days of thetransfer window.

The Blues’ main target is believed to be Fofana, with Chelsea securing a deal for the 21-year-old centre-back despite having three bids rejected previously.

After agreeing personal terms with Tuchel’s side in early August, Fofana requested to leave the King Power Stadium.

The French defender was left out of Brendan Rodgers’ matchday squad against Southampton last weekend and will not travel to Stamford Bridge this weekend.

After missing a first-team session last week to pursue a move to SW6, the former St. Etienne player has been training with Leicester’s Development Squad.

Leicester’s situation is reminiscent of the saga that saw former defender Harry Maguire leave for Manchester United in 2019.

Ironically, by September, the Frenchman could be lining up alongside their former center-back for Chelsea.

Chelsea are said to have made an unexpected enquiry about Manchester United captain  availability, who was on the bench for the Red Devils’ 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday night.

Tuchel wants to add at least one more center-back to his squad before the transfer window closes, having missed out on Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde while signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

In terms of Aubameyang, Chelsea are very confident of landing the striker, having made a £22 million bid for the Barcelona forward.

Tuchel is hoping to reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund player and add a wealth of Premier League experience to his squad, having previously spent four years in London with Arsenal.

The Gabonese international scored 92 goals in 163 Arsenal appearances before joining Barcelona in January, where he has scored 13 goals in 24 games.

However, the Catalan club’s well-documented financial problems may force them to part ways with the striker after only seven months.

Although an immediate starting spot appears unlikely, Chelsea clearly rate Everton winger Anthony Gordon, having prepared a £60 million bid for the 21-year-old, with talks between the two clubs continuing, understands.

The Blues have already signed a winger in Raheem Sterling this summer, but the young Englishman would undoubtedly add quality to Tuchel’s squad, having impressed under Chelsea legend and Toffees manager Frank Lampard since breaking through.

Chelsea have the potential to end the transfer window with a mouth-watering squad and an extremely competitive first-choice starting XI. Here’s how the Blues might line up if these deals are completed.

Tuchel’s ideal Chelsea XI: Mendy; Fofana, Silva, Koulibaly; James, Kante, Jorginho, Cucurella; Mount, Sterling, Aubameyang.
