Thomas Tuchel lined up for a shock new job three months after Chelsea sacking

Thomas Tuchel allegedly made Ghana’s shortlist of six candidates for their next manager.

In a stunning turn of events, the former Chelsea manager, who was ousted in September after a terrible start to the Premier League season, has been touted to lead the Black Stars.

The Ghanaian Football Association is preparing replacements for Otto Addo, who resigned after his team failed to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals.

Even though Tuchel has expressed interest in succeeding Gareth Southgate if the England manager were to resign in the new year, the African heavyweights are interested in him.

According to reports from Ghana, the 49-year-old strategist has been shortlisted alongside former Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Chris Houghton.

Since ten months ago, Houghton, whose father is Ghanaian, has served as the Black Star’s technical advisor. George Boateng, a renowned member of the current Ghana squad, is also said to be in the running.

Former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough midfielder Boateng was named Addo’s assistant in May, two months after a furious World Cup play-off victory against Nigeria.

Tuchel, now-former South Korea manager Paulo Bento, Serbia manager Dragan Stojkovic, and Gambia manager Tom Saintfiet will join the trio who are already acquainted with the work at hand.

It is certain that the German coach would be the most stunning choice, especially given his ties to the England position should Southgate resign.

According to a report published by the Telegraph last month, Tuchel was instructed to leave the United Kingdom by the end of December because the terms of his post-Brexit visa no longer met the criteria.

The former Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Paris Saint-Germain manager is rumored to be patiently awaiting the proper opportunity to return to management after a wave of success at Stamford Bridge.

After succeeding Frank Lampard in January 2021, Tuchel led the Blues to Champions League victory within five months of his debut, as well as three domestic cup finals during his 19-month reign.

In the spring of this year, however, Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the club after guiding Chelsea through their most difficult time in recent history.

New owner Todd Boehly and Tuchel quickly clashed behind the scenes, precipitating the end of Tuchel’s tumultuous career and the hiring of Graham Potter. Tuchel was spotted in India shortly after quitting his position in west London, and it was revealed that he went there to undergo ayurvedic rejuvenation therapy, which tries to revitalize the body.

Taking the job in Ghana would undoubtedly revitalize his career.
