Thomas Tuchel has settled on Chelsea’s next transfer after Fikayo Tomori’s departure.
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has urged the Blues’ hierarchy to look into the possibility of signing Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore this summer.
That is according to a report by Spanish newspaper AS, who say Tuchel is a big fan of the former Middlesbrough star.
Strengthening the right flank of his squad this summer is a top preference for the Chelsea manager, who led the club to the UEFA Champions League title last month.
The German is perceived to want to strengthen three areas of his squad this summer to turn the club back into real Premier League title contenders, with a fresh right-sided defender, a central midfielder, and a striker on his request list.
Chelsea, who will lock horns with Crystal Palace on the commencement day of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, have already named Inter Milan ace Achraf Hakimi as the perfect candidate to reinforce the right wing-back berth and challenge Reece James for the task.
Chelsea are said to have tabled a big-money bid for the Morocco international and are still understood to be locked in discussions with the Serie A titans about getting a deal over the line.

At the same time, however, French titans Paris Saint-Germain are still in the running and are not giving up the desire of getting a settlement over the line.
With that stated, and Tuchel apparently not ready to wait forever to get a deal done for the former Real Madrid man, the former Borussia Dortmund boss is keeping his opportunities open, with Wolves ace Traore intently in his mind.
It is reported in Spain that Tuchel has conferred Traore’s name to Marina Granovskaia – Chelsea’s transfer guru – and has named him as the ideal alternative to Hakimi if they cannot strike a deal with Inter to get a deal done.
Traore, who is currently with the Spain crew at Euro 2020, is not rigorously a defender but does have the versatility to perform as a wing-back if required.
With Tuchel a big devotee of seeing his wing-backs charge forward and join the attack, Traore could be tailor-made with his pace and powerful frame.
Hakimi, meanwhile, is a more natural wing-back, rich in a defensive sense and justly as comfortable when cruising into the attacking third.
Traore is under agreement at Molineux until the summer of 2023, meaning Chelsea would more than likely have to pay a sizeable transfer fee to entice him to west London.
However, Chelsea have already achieved a £25million windfall from Fikayo Tomori’s move to AC Milan, meaning that money could be put towards a possible deal for the Spain international.
