Thomas Tuchel has named three Chelsea players who looked “very tired” against Real Madrid.

Chelsea secured a crucial away goal advantage in a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in Spain in the first leg of the Champions League semi final tie.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that three Chelsea players seemed “very tired” during a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid.
Chelsea now have an advantage of the away goal going into next week’s return leg at Stamford Bridge, which will decide who faces Manchester City or Paris Saint-Germain in the final.
Tuchel claimed in his post-match press conference that the trio of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, and Timo Werner looked tired during the Madrid match.
Christensen completed the full 90 minutes, while Azpilicueta and Werner came off midway through the second half.
It’s not shocking that there were some tiring legs as Chelsea boss made no changes to the XI from the weekend win over West Ham in the Premier League.

When asked by BT Sport about his substitutions in the second half. The German responded:
“In that moment we lost too many balls, we had too many technical errors.”
“Azpi looked very tired, Christensen looked very tired, same for Timo. We worked very hard last week.”
Chelsea’s incredible squad depth meant that Tuchel’s team still remained impressive. With The Blues still competing in the Champions League, FA Cup, and Premier League, the squad is going to be needed during a hectic May schedule.
Chelsea at the moment are battling to finish in the top four of the league and are in the FA Cup final against Leicester, and have a small edge over Madrid now in the Champions League semi-final.
