Thibaut Courtois mocks Chelsea again with his latest reflection on his ‘beautiful’ Real Madrid decision.

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is not a popular man among Chelsea fans. Courtois won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup during his time at Chelsea but that doesn’t make things any easier.
The fallout between Chelsea supporters and the Courtois started in the summer of 2018. Courtois, who had just one year left on his contract with Chelsea, wanted to leave for Real Madrid and the goalkeeper even pushed harder to ensure that the move materialized.
After the World Cup, the Belgian declined to hold talks with then Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri and even failed to report for pre-season training following his involvement for his country at the World Cup. Courtois finally got his way and joined Real Madrid.
Soon after making his first appearance for the Spanish giants, Courtois told the Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad that:
“In training, you see that the level at Real Madrid is high. The level at Real Madrid is higher than at Chelsea.”
“It [the Bernabeu] is twice as big [as Stamford Bridge]. It’s a very different feeling. If you look forward, you only see a wall of people. At Stamford Bridge, you can still see the sky or the hotel behind the stand.”

After his move to Los Blancos, Courtois was interviewed by Spanish radio station Onda Cero and spoke of his desire to have Hazard join him. He said:
“I don’t know if he is going to sign for Real Madrid, nor do I know if the club wants him,”
“For me, he is one of the best in the world and as a friend, I would like him to be here.”
Courtois played against Chelsea for the first time following his departure from the club on Tuesday Champions League semi-finals.
The goalkeeper made one superb save to deny Timo Werner but was beaten soon in an incredible style after Christian Pulisic rounded him before firing home in the 1-1 draw.
Prior to the game at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, Courtois offered an interview with Real Madrid TV. And, intentional or not, there was yet another slight against Chelsea in his remarks.
“My presentation [after signing for Real Madrid] was one of the most beautiful moments of my life,” he said.
“Seeing the Champions League (trophies), the fans on the pitch were very happy moments. You feel very special and that is why it is the largest club in the world.
“I have not seen the way in which they present you in any other team. At Chelsea, it’s a photo at the stadium, nothing else. To hear that you’re a Real Madrid player is fantastic.”
“As a child I dreamed of playing for Real Madrid and it is something that I can cross off my wish list. I want to win trophies here, especially the Champions League.
“After the [2018] World Cup, they called my representative to say that they were going to negotiate with Chelsea. I was excited and looking forward to it.“
