“They punished us”- Guardiola identifies two Tottenham players who caused Manchester City problems

Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has identified Dejan Kulusevski and Son-Heung Min as two Tottenham players who caused his team many problems in last night’s 1-0 loss.

Despite starting the game well, as City typically does when facing Tottenham, a team error led to a goal for Tottenham and a 1-0 deficit for City. They were subsequently unable to regain control of the game.

Guardiola acknowledged that City had opportunities to equalize but struggled to do so when they lost possession in transition, especially when Kulusevski and Son were on the ball.

The two Tottenham players created numerous problems for City’s defense, making it difficult for the team to regain control of the game.

He lauded his players for their effort and tenacity, but acknowledged that they will need to work on improving their defense, particularly in terms of dealing with opponents’ quick transitions.

This season, Kulusevski and Son have been performing admirably for Tottenham, and their efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Guardiola’s remarks about the duo emphasize their impact on the game and their ability to cause problems for even the most formidable teams.

Here is what Pep told SkySports about why his team lost last night’s match.

“We started really well, as usually happens against Tottenham home and away, but after we made a mistake they punished us – 1-0 down it is different, we had chances, and of course when we lose balls in transition with Kulusevski and Son, it is not easy. We dropped three points.”

Tottenham needed the win and performance badly. It means that they are now only one point away from the top four. However, Manchester City cannot make the same claim.

Pep Guardiola’s squad had a golden opportunity to close the gap with Arsenal to just two points. They blew their opportunity and must now find a way to reclaim their position at the table.
