The TOP FIVE “Most Valuable Squads” At 2022 Qatar World Cup
It is now possible to calculate the value of each team traveling to Qatar, as each nation has now announced its World Cup squads ahead of the tournament’s start next weekend.
Many will not be surprised by the nations on our list, but it is interesting to note that Germany and Argentina do not make the top five.
Sportingpedia.com has calculated the values of each team, with the five most expensive clubs valued at more than €900 million.
5 . Spain – €902M
Barcelona duo Pedri and Gavi are valued at a combined €190 million, while Manchester City’s Rodri is valued at €80 million; therefore, their midfield is certainly loaded with talent.
Luis Enrique has selected Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Paris Saint-Pablo Germain’s Sarabia as his strikers for the tournament. However, there are still questions about the effectiveness of these two players.
4 . Portugal – €923M
Bernardo Silva (€80 million) and Ruben Dias (€75 million) are the two most highly valued Portuguese players, along with Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes (€75 million).
A number of Portugal’s players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, and Rui Patricio, are in their thirties. This is the team’s biggest weakness.
3 . France – €1066M
Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain is valued at €160 million, which accounts for a portion of the difference between the French and Portuguese squads’ values.
Didier Deschamps’ squad is brimming with exciting young talent, including Arsenal’s William Saliba and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, to name a few.
2 . Brazil – €1137M
Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo of Real Madrid are the two most highly valued Brazilian players, with the former being worth €120 million and the latter €80 million.
The men of Tite are the odds-on favorites to win the tournament, although they are surprisingly not the most expensive squad assembled for Qatar…
1 . England – €1260M
When it comes to the value of their World Cup-bound players, England is light-years ahead of its competitors. Some may argue, however, that the prices of some of these players are excessive.
Phil Foden is valued at a staggering €110 million, with Jude Bellingham not far behind at €100 million. Manager Gareth Southgate has an abundance of talent available to him.
