‘That’s good’: Some Arsenal supporters are ‘surprised’ by shock stat that compares Arteta to Wenger

Replacing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal will be a difficult task for any manager in this era of the beautiful game, but Mikel Arteta is taking a good shot at the legendary Gunners manager.

Since returning to the north London club as coach in 2019, the Basque manager has had a rollercoaster ride. Arteta has led Arsenal to the FA Cup final and the UEFA Europa League semi-finals.

Arteta, on the other hand, has twice finished eighth in the Premier League standings. Furthermore, Arsenal failed to qualify for Europe for the first time in this century last season.

Indeed, despite some embarrassing moments, Arteta’s win percentage remains surprisingly high, according to AFTV’s official Twitter account.

Arteta’s approval rating of 54.7 percent is only 0.4 percent lower than that of Unai Emery, the former Manchester City assistant who took over as Arsenal’s new manager. Meanwhile, Wenger has a 57.2 percent success rate in 1224 games with the Gunners.

With Arteta yet to play 100 games for Arsenal, the 39-year-old coach has a long way to go before living up to Wenger’s status at the north London club.

Despite some regression, a few Arsenal fans on social media are astounded by Arteta’s win percentage as Gunners manager when compared to Wenger’s.

On Twitter, here’s what some Arsenal fans had to say about Arteta’s current record versus Wenger…
