Ten Hag transfer target who canceled his holiday to meet his team and demand a transfer yet to return to training
According to The Daily Record, Lisandro Martinez has been lobbying for a huge move to Manchester United.
More information from AS has now revealed how eager Martinez has been to leave Ajax.
According to AS, Martinez took a vacation last week to visit Ajax and inform them of his wish to leave the club.
The report explained: “In the middle of his vacation he went to Amsterdam to speak with the managers of the Dutch club. The defender explained to them that, given the amounts of the proposals, he understood that it would be best for all parties to accept at least one of them.”
Martinez allegedly called Ajax on Monday to reiterate his intention to quit the club. The Argentine international is yet to return to training.
According to the well-known football Twitter account ‘TheEuropeanLad,’ who also has close ties to Ajax;
“Looks like Lisandro didn’t report himself back along with the other Internationals today.”
The rumour is that Martinez would fight hard this summer to get a transfer to the Premier League.
Manchester United and Arsenal are vying for Martinez, with the Red Devils being viewed as having the upper hand thanks to Erik ten Hag, who first signed him for Ajax.
According to AS, United will return with an upgraded offer for a trade worth up to 50 million euros (£42.3 million).
Martinez is reportedly very interested in reuniting with manager Erik ten Hag.
According to The Mirror, United made a £40 million bid last weekend, but it was insufficient to entice Ajax to sell. But, given the centre-back’s desire to depart, it will be difficult for them to keep him.
