Ten Hag told he has made one huge summer transfer mistake, must correct it immediately
Former England international Paul Robinson has suggested that Erik ten Hag is making a big mistake by being unrealistic with his summer transfer targets.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and England number one was speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Erik ten Hag’s interest in Darwin Nunez, who has since joined Liverpool.
Liverpool, according to Robinson, are a “greater draw” than Manchester United, and Erik ten Hag must be “realistic.”
According to the Express (14 June), Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepulveda stated that Manchester United made a “bigger” offer for the Uruguay striker, but the player turned it down.
Robinson stated that the Red Devils face a “massive rebuild.”
When questioned if Liverpool were now a far more appealing proposition than United, Campbell responded, “ Manchester United are not the bigger draw anymore.
“They have to be realistic.
“The big thing for footballers at that level is the Champions League. Players want to be competing at the top. Man United can’t offer that at the moment and that’s a problem.
“They are in transition. There is a massive rebuild facing Erik ten Hag. He has a job on to convince players to come and be a part of what he is building.
“If you go to Liverpool you are going to a club that is ready to win major trophies. United are a way off at the moment.”
