Tammy Abraham’s girlfriend slams Thomas Tuchel after FA Cup final snub.
Tammy Abraham’s companion, Leah Monroe, shared her outrage that the Chelsea striker was dropped out of Thomas Tuchel’s FA Cup final squad – before deleting her Instagram post.
Abraham has four goals in three FA Cup games this season but has been a less and less noticeable player at the Blues since Tuchel succeeded Frank Lampard in late January.
The choice not to have a goalscorer like Abraham on the bench caused a reaction from supporters, from pundits – and from England’s international’s companion, who made her opinions open on Instagram.
“How on earth do you make the decision to leave your top goal scorer out of the squad for a final?” posted Monroe on her IG stories, before later deleting the message.
“The same person who even scored the goals to actually qualify for this competition? It’s not making any sense whatsoever.”
She finished: “Not even the bench?! This has to be a joke.”

Abraham’s partner shared her message before Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Leicester in the FA Cup final and there might be some Blues supporters also questioning why Abraham wasn’t even deserving a place among the bench.
Abraham scored the only goal of the game when Chelsea beat Barnsley in the fifth round in February. He is also still the club’s joint-top scorer this season – on 12 in all competitions, the same number as Timo Werner – notwithstanding his lack of first-team action of late.
Preferably, Tuchel went for Werner up front with Olivier Giroud among the substitutes as a center-forward option.
There are reports that Abraham is likely to leave Chelsea this season as he is certainly not part of Tuchel’s plans.
And at least one person close to Abraham clearly believes Tuchel made a big error with his squad selection on Saturday.
