‘Take him!’ – Manchester United and Man City fans react to stunning Paul Pogba shock transfer reports
Fans of Manchester United and Manchester City have reacted to rumours that the Blues are interested in signing Paul Pogba this summer.
Pogba’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season, and he is generally expected to leave for the second time this summer on a free transfer.
Various sources, initially published in the Daily Mail, claim that the Premier League winners are ‘exploring’ the potential of a surprise transfer coup akin to Carlos Tevez’s move across the city in 2009.
City would not be able to make a formal bid to Pogba until the conclusion of the season due to transfer laws, but he is understood to be on Pep Guardiola’s list of choices.
According to the Mail, the 29-year-old has not ruled out a move to Manchester City and would examine an offer.
Guardiola and City are said to have turned down the chance to sign Pogba in March when it became evident that the midfielder would be departing the Theatre of Dreams, according to The Athletic.
City are in desperate need of a central midfielder, which Pogba could fill after Fernandinho announced his decision to leave the club.
The initial reaction of fans on both sides of the divide to rumours that Pogba could be heading to City is as follows.
Very bad. I rather give him 500k
