‘Special personality’: Arteta identifies Arsenal’s ‘very emotional’ player yet not the most vocal in dressing room
Mikel Arteta told Premier League Daily on PL Productions that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has a “very special personality” at Arsenal.
Arsenal manager also stated that Aubameyang is a “very emotional” person who is “not the most vocal.”
Unai Emery appointed Aubameyang as Arsenal captain prior to his dismissal.
Sometimes a change of manager results in a change of leadership on the field, but that did not occur when Arteta was handed the keys to the club.
And the Spaniard praised his experienced leader and the type of person he is.
“He is a leader that has a very special personality,” said Arteta. “He’s very active and very emotional.
“That’s what makes happiness and that’s what makes joy. He’s not the most vocal player in the dressing room, that’s for sure.
“But he does have other attributes.”
There are a lot of youngsters, whether they have come through the academy or via the transfer market, that are in and around the first-team now.
Many of them, especially Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka, have performed exceptionally well.
But a lot of credit should also be given to the senior stars, such as Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette who have helped them settle in and grow.
At the end of the day, they are the future and if Arsenal are to get back to the top then destiny is right at their feet.
