Southampton striker is a surprise Aguero replacement at City.

According to Sky Sports, Danny Ings could be the man to replace Aguero whose future at the club remains uncertain. Aguero is in his final year with a lot of speculation about his next club with reports suggesting he could join Premier League rivals for free.

Aguero’s poor form combined with injury has limited his playing time for the Cityzens. He has made 14 appearances this season and recorded just three goals on his name.

While Ings enjoyed a spectacular campaign last season when he was a joint top scorer in the Premier League, he started this season’s campaign on a high note but faded as Southampton slide down the middle half of the table.

With injuries ruining his England fourth Cap for his Country, his impressive displays saw him make into the Southgate team on three occasions. Chelsea, Barcelona, and PSG are among the club assessing the situation of the 32 years Argentina.

The Cityzens are interested in securing the services of a highly coveted Norweigian International Erling Haaland whose price tag is upward of £150million and view Ings as a cheaper option should they miss out on their target.

With other European clubs in contention of Erling, Pep Guardiola’s City have no guarantee that they will win the race to land him at Etihad.

City have enjoyed a good season despite them not having a regular striker. They are 14 points clear ahead of the second-placed Manchester United in the Premier League.

There have been talks about them winning quadruple this season. Although Pep dismissed talks of such success, City are still in a good position to achieve this fate that no England club has achieved.
