SHOCKER! Wenger now tells Arsenal: You’re not good enough for title

SHOCKER! Wenger now tells Arsenal: You’re not good enough for title

The former manager of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, has expressed pessimism about the club’s chances of winning the title this year.

Wenger does not believe that his former team,  will win the Premier League title this year.

This is the case despite the illustrious manager’s clear loyalties to the club, as well as the Gunners’ scorching start to their season.

The team captained by Mikel Arteta has already triumphed in 12 of their 14 Premier League matches played this season, with their lone loss coming at the hands of Manchester United.

This season, Arsenal now has additional strength in depth and quality thanks to the return of William Saliba from a loan agreement at Marseille as well as the acquisitions of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Wenger, the great former manager of Arsenal, believes that players like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, and others have improved once again this season, and he believes that these teams will undoubtedly be City’s closest opponents.

On beIN Sports, Wenger stated that: “Yeah, personally I would put them just behind City.

“[Arsenal are] the second-best team to have a good chance to win the Premier League because Man City at some stage will focus highly on the Champions League.

“I think [Arsenal are City’s best challengers]. And after we don’t know about Liverpool but they are already 11 points behind and 10 points behind Man City is a mountain to climb.”

Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor expressed confidence in the Gunners’ ability to win the Premier League title before Arsenal’s match against Wolves, which the Gunners won 2-0 thanks to a double from Odegaard.

“Yes, they can [win the Premier League],” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT. “I feel that, we’ve been doing this show since the start of the season and every week, everyone’s been saying, ‘Oh, they’ll bottle it next week, it’s only 7 games, it’s only 8 games, it’s only 10 games, you can’t look at the table yet.’

“They’ve played 13 games and if they win tonight [before Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Wolves], it’ll be 14 games, same as Manchester City and they’ll be 5 points clear. And like you [Jamie O’Hara] said to me just, last season against Manchester City, they were hard done by in the game at the Emirates.”
