Shock name enters the Spurs managerial race if club sack Conte

Currently, there is little cause for enthusiasm regarding Antonio Conte’s leadership at Tottenham Hotspur. While the Italian coach is not yet a lost cause, it appears unlikely that he will continue at White Hart Lane after the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Despite the fact that illness may have hindered him, Conte has failed to inspire his players to perform at the necessary level to achieve the success that Daniel Levy and the fans desire. Things have not gone according to plan.

As a result, it would come as no shock if Conte were dismissed from his post or if he resigned before facing termination.

Given the illustrious history of the club, there will undoubtedly be numerous candidates vying for the position, and a leading contender may have recently emerged.

Luis Enrique to Spurs?

As reported by  The Times (subscription required), Luis Enrique, the former manager of Barcelona and the Spanish national team, has expressed interest in the job should Tottenham decide to replace Conte.

Considering Enrique’s credentials, his interest should certainly pique the interest of the north London club if they aim to progress.

Enrique’s teams have always been renowned for their attacking intensity and strong work ethic, which was evident in his 2014/15 Barcelona side that won a second treble following Pep Guardiola’s triumph in 2008/09.

His career win percentage of 61.41 percent (according to FootyStats) should serve as a compelling argument for Daniel Levy, and if he were to be appointed, it would be fascinating to see whether Luis Enrique can finally deliver some much-needed silverware to Tottenham.
