Fiorentina, a Serie A club, has emerged as an unexpected destination for Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to Calciomercatoweb (h/t Manchester Evening News), Fiorentina have been linked with a shock move for Manchester United and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Serie A club is hoping to entice the 37-year-old to return to Italy. The Viola’s owner, Rocco B. Commisso, is willing to pay the five-time Ballon d’Or winner whatever he wants.
Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is uncertain at the moment. After his contentious interview with Piers Morgan, the Portugal international is unlikely to play for the Red Devils again.
Last year, the 37-year-old was greeted warmly upon his return to United. Most fans were thrilled to see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner don the red shirt again. After the 2021 transfer window, the Theatre of Dreams had high expectations.
Unfortunately, the Red Devils disappointed. United were unable to compete for titles, finishing sixth in the Premier League and missing out on the Champions League.

After the incident against Tottenham Hotspur, the 37-year-old found his way back into the team. However, the interview appears to be the final straw for some fans, who want the forward to leave the club in January. It remains to be seen whether he will relocate to Tuscany.
