‘Serious chance’: Fabrizio Romano issues exciting update about World Cup quarter-finalist on Tottenham radar

‘Serious chance’: Fabrizio Romano issues exciting update about World Cup quarter-finalist on Tottenham radar

In recent months, Tottenham has been connected to Chelsea and Morocco attacker Hakim Ziyech.

Toni Juanmarti reported in August that Spurs were close to finalizing personal terms with the attacking midfielder.

Ziyech remained at Stamford Bridge when Tottenham was unable to complete the transfer.

However, Spurs may attempt again in January, as Graham Potter appears willing to let the £36 million player go.

Gazzetta Dello Sport reported recently that Ziyech is willing to take a pay reduction in order to transfer.

Tottenham may seek to acquire a player capable of competing with Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.

These two individuals have been crucial to Spurs’ success this season.

However, after losing both players to injury, their performances and point totals declined.

Tottenham is able to move faster in the second part of the season, although they might use additions.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Ziyech is eager to “try something fresh” next season.

“Hakim Ziyech,” the transfer insider said of the World Cup quarter-finalist on his YouTube channel.

“He’s not so young but he was needing that kind of performance as he had with Morocco in the World Cup.

“This player is great and he needs to play.

“This is the point – in the summer he had a chance with AC Milan, then with Ajax.

“Chelsea only wanted the permanent transfer not a loan.

“But I think that in 2023, January or summer, he will have a serious chance to leave Chelsea and have a new opportunity.

“So Hakim Ziyech could be one to watch on the market already in January.

“If not January, in the summer, because he wants to try something different.

“And when he plays on a consistent base he’s showing how good he is as always.”

Although Ziyech has failed to impress at Chelsea, his World Cup performances for Morocco demonstrate what a fantastic player he is.

Meanwhile, Conte has demonstrated his ability to revitalize underperforming players. Let’s not forget Dejan Kulusevski was a peripheral player at Juve.

Could Tottenham’s manager accomplish the same with Ziyech?
