Savours ‘dream’ moment as Alejandro Garnacho asks Cristiano Ronaldo’s permission to do his new sleeping celebration
After scoring his first goal for Manchester United , Alejandro Garnacho requested permission from Cristiano Ronaldo to perform his new “sleeping” celebration.
In United’s final Europa League group match against Real Sociedad, the teen scored a spectacular goal to give his team a 1-0 victory.
The 18-year- old’s goal made even more meaningful by the fact that his ‘idol’ Ronaldo assisted him, capping a ‘dream’ first goal for his club.

Garnacho can be seen asking Ronaldo whether he can perform his new celebration while gesticulating to the Portuguese talisman as he celebrated with his United teammates.
Ronaldo laughs at the touching moment before patting Garnacho on the head and fulfilling his wish.
A few moments later, the young Argentinian is seen pulling away from his Manchester United teammates and paying tribute to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

After the game, Garnacho rushed to social media to thank Ronaldo for helping to make it a night he’ll never forget.
Garnacho tweeted: ’18 years and 125 days dreaming of this moment. Thanks Idol, @Cristiano’
Garnacho’s strike also drew praise from Manchester United legends Paul Scholes and Owen Hargreaves, who praised the youthful forward.
At halftime, both Hargreaves and Scholes hailed him as being United’s best in another encouraging performance on BT Sport.
“I’m really pleased for the young lad, he’s been United’s best player,” Scholes said.
‘”second touch really makes the goal, he gets it out of his feet and slides it into the top corner. I think he’s been far and away the biggest attacking threat on the pitch. I don’t think the keeper covers himself in glory, but it’s a lovely finish.”
Meanwhile, Hargreaves added: “That’s the great thing about young kids, they play with a real enthusiasm. Every time he touches it he runs forward, the first touch is amazing. It is great to see him mentored by Cristiano [Ronaldo].

“He’s a really good player and it’s nice to see him performing on the biggest stage.”
Ronaldo has recently abandoned his famous ‘SIUUU’ celebration in favor of his new sleeping one, which is claimed to be a self-deprecating in-joke between Ronaldo and his team-mates, according to Manchester United’s official website.
