Deal complete: Liverpool sign winger with ‘ferocious talent’ after agreement reached

Another source from Ghana has confirmed that Liverpool have signed Fatawu Issahaku from Steadfast FC for over €1million despite suggestions to the contrary.

It was recently denied by domestic reporters that Liverpool are in agreement to sign Issahaku or that there is a commitment to do so when he turns 18.

However, a senior source has told Anfield Central that there is an arrangement in place to sign the 2021 U20 AFCON Player of the Tournament.

He will move to Sporting Lisbon on loan for the 2021/22 season or for as long as it takes for him to become eligible for a UK work permit.

Liverpool make Mbappe enquiry as PSG contract extension talks drag on

Liverpool are exploring the possibility of signing Kylian Mbappe and have reportedly enquired about the possibility of signing the French attacker this summer. The Reds are said to be keen on changing things within their ranks and are looking at available avenues to recruit a target whom they have been keenly monitoring for a few seasons now.

Mbappe’s contract situation at Paris Saint-Germain is no secret with the player and the club being involved in drawn-out negotiations that have stalled in recent months. With just a year left on the player’s current deal, club President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is confident of extending the Frenchman’s stay for the foreseeable future. On Friday, the Parisians announced that Ethan Mbappe, the younger brother of the attacker, has signed a new youth contract with PSG.

While fans are desperate to see Kylian extending his stay, the prospect keeps getting dim by the day. A move to Real Madrid has been speculated in recent seasons and, now, Liverpool are also said on intensifying their pursuit for the forward. According to Marca, Jurgen Klopp’s side has enquired about the availability of the French forward this summer in a bid to replenish the forward line.

However, Liverpool’s query is said to be borne out of hope rather than expectation, particularly with regards to this summer, as they would be unable to make a move for a player of Mbappe’s caliber unless they ship out a few stars of their own. Against this backdrop, the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah could be allowed to leave should the club get a buyer.

Patson Daka confirms he is joining Leicester City

Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka has ended speculation over his future by confirming that he will move to Leicester City this summer.

The Zambia international has attracted high-profile interest from Chelsea and Liverpool this summer, but the Foxes have won the race to sign him.

The club have already agreed personal terms with the player alongside the transfer package, and Daka has now personally confirmed the deal.

He told Kronen Zeitung: “I will go to England and move to Leicester City. I had a great time here, Salzburg has become my second home.”

“I will always be happy to come back here, but the Premier League has always been my big dream.

Tottenham ahead of Liverpool in race for 21-year-old Serie A goalscorer

According to Calciomercato (h/t Daily Star), Tottenham Hotspur have moved ahead of Premier League rivals Liverpool in the race to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The 21-year-old joined Serie A side Fiorentina from Serbian outfit Partizan Belgrade as a teenager in 2018. Having slowly risen to prominence at the club, Vlahovic is now the first-choice centre-forward at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

In the 2020/21 term, Vlahovic managed an impressive return of 21 goals and two assists from 37 matches in Serie A. The youngster’s exploits with La Viola has now led to interest from a host of clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Tottenham are in the need of a new centre-forward as Carlos Vinicius’ loan deal has run out, leaving Harry Kane without any backup. Furthermore, the England captain’s own future is uncertain with Manchester City keen on signing him this summer transfer window. (h/t Sky Sports)

Benfica Bid for Harry Wilson Rejected

According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, Liverpool have no trouble finding clubs that are interested in a permanent move for Wilson, but they are struggling to get what they believe is a fair offer for the 24-year-old winger.

Portuguese side SL Benfica are said to have made an official bid for Wilson’s services, but their offer fell short of the €15 million Liverpool are seeking, and the gap seems to have been large enough that talks have broken down entirely.

It’s not the first bid that Liverpool have turned down for the Welshman, having rejected an offer of £11 million from Burnley last summer.

The good news is there seems to be confidence on Liverpool’s side that Benfica will come back to the table with a new offer eventually. Even if they don’t though, Pearce mentioned that Brentford and West Brom have also shown interest, and it’s not hard to imagine that a few other Championship and bottom half Premier League sides could be keeping an eye on Wilson

Liverpool Locked In A Three-Way Battle For This Liga NOS Playmaker

In a recent report, Portuguese news outlet Correio de Manha revealed that Liverpool are locked in a three-way battle for FC Porto playmaker Otavio this summer. It is believed that the Reds could face competition in the form of Fiorentina and Valencia in the race to sign the Brazilian attacker during this summer transfer window (via Correio de Manha).

The Brazilian sensation managed to influence the game at both ends of the field based on his average of 2.0 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 1.4 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game in the Liga NOS. He even distributed possession accurately in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 80.6% in the Portuguese top tier (stats via whoscored).

If Otavio can maintain his high standards in the Premier League, he could prove to be a shrewd signing for Liverpool this summer. His skillset suits Jurgen Klopp’s playing style quite well, so we can expect him to grow into a world-class attacker if the Reds decide to get him on board ahead of the new campaign.

Liverpool eyeing moves for three Euro 2020 stars as Neuhaus talks go nowhere

A report from UOL has indicated that Jugen Klopp’s main request this summer was to sign German midfielder Florian Neuhaus, but those talks didn’t go anywhere and there are three players currently shining at Euro 2020 who are currently on the radar.

Donyell Malen:

Malen is one of the hottest properties in Dutch football since the emergence of Memphis Depay, and it’s impressive to note that he’s scored at least ten goals in each of his last three campaigns – despite missing over half a season with a major injury.

Domenico Berardi

Berardi has had a fascinating career with Sassuolo so far because he’s clearly big enough to play for a bigger club, but he’s stayed loyal to the team after their promotion from Serie B in 2013.

His first two seasons in the top flight were magnificent as he found the back of the net regularly, but then he seemed to stall completely and suddenly there were many who wondered if he had missed the chance to have a career at the highest level.

Manuel Locatelli

Locatelli is a teammate of Berardi’s for club and country, and he’s shown enough this summer to suggest that he could be the man to replace Gini Wijnaldum in the Anfield midfield.

He initially broke through at AC Milan and it was a surprise when he was shipped off to Sassuolo, but it turned out to be the right move as he’s established himself as a great Serie A midfielder and a regular for Italy.
