Sadio Mane’s bizarre Ismaila Sarr message reignites Liverpool transfer thought.

Liverpool supporters have been left bemused by a grotesque social media post from Liverpool player Sadio Mane.
Mane completed a difficult season on a high by scoring both Liverpool’s goals in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on the final day in the Premier League which secured Champions League spot.
The game came just 10 days after Mane had apparently snubbed manager Jurgen Klopp’s post-match complimentary gesture when Liverpool had conquered old foes Manchester United 4-2 at Old Trafford, a game in which the player had come off the bench as a second-half replacement.
While that issue now seems to have been put to bed, Mane had Kopites scratching their heads once more by sharing a video with his 8.5million Instagram followers that showed his Senegalese compatriot Ismaila Sarr scoring for Watford against Liverpool back in February 2020.
The shock 3-0 loss for the Reds that day was their first loss in 28 Premier League games that campaign and ended their dreams of emulating Arsenal’s Invincibles.
Bewildered fans duly took to Twitter to offer their own theories to the cryptic post.

Some questioned whether it means that the winger, who has been associated to Liverpool in the past, might be heading to Anfield.
Sarr’s agent has previously articulated out how the Watford attacker came close to signing for Liverpool.
The Reds rated a move for Sarr last September but demurred at the asking price of around £40million for the player, with Watford declining to consider negotiation on either the fee or method of payment.
Liverpool rather sought their interest in Diogo Jota and granted an initial £41m deal of which only around 10% was required to be paid across the next 12 months.
Sarr’s agent, Thierno Seydi, earlier this year maintained a move for the Senegal international was at a high-level stage before they looked elsewhere.
“With Liverpool, we were at the stage of signing the contract to bind the Reds to Ismaila Sarr,” he said to Pan African Football.
“Everything was set, the monthly salary and the length of the deal. I even asked Sadio Mane to find him an apartment.”
