Ruben Neves tells teammates he is ready to join Arsenal this summer.

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has told to his teammates that he wants to secure a move to Arsenal this summer.

The Portugal international has risen as a transfer target for the Gunners with Mikel Arteta keen to strengthen his prospects in the middle of the park.

The Sunday Times claims Arsenal have ‘begun work’ to bring the midfielder to north London and are confident of agreeing on a deal for around £34m.

Wolves meanwhile are open to selling the 24-year-old and according to the Daily Mail, Neves is ‘aware of Arsenal’s interest’ and has ‘indicated his willingness’ to join the Gunners to his Wolves teammates.

The Sun meanwhile claim Wolves are ready to listen to offers for both Neves and his countryman Joao Moutinho, with their Chinese owners eager to raise funds needed to rebuild the team.

Arsenal’s options in the middle of the park are already limited with Dani Ceballos returning to Real Madrid following the end of his loan spell with the club.

Granit Xhaka meanwhile remains heavily connected with a move to Roma, with Jose Mourinho reportedly interested to make the Switzerland international the first signing of his reign following his selection as Paulo Fonseca’s successor last month.

Reports also allege that Arsenal remains interested in Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, who has already asked to leave the club.
