Revealed: The six Utd stars – including Cristiano Ronaldo – called for crisis talks by Solskjaer ahead of Man United’s Watford clash
Six Manchester United players were summoned to crisis talks with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Thursday, according to reports.
The topic of the dressing room at Old Trafford has, of course, been front and center in recent headlines.
This comes as speculation about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s position grows, owing to an alarming drop in faith among the Red Devils’ stars.
United have had a truly dreadful season to date, currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table, nine points behind table-topping Chelsea with only 11 games played.
According to the Daily Mail, Solskjaer scheduled the meetings to get the players’ opinions on how to turn the club’s season around, as well as to discuss tactics after switching from a back four to a back three in recent matches.

Not only that, but the Manchester heavyweights have been knocked out of the League Cup and have been forced to rely on Cristiano Ronaldo’s last-gasp heroics to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League alive.
Ronaldo, for one, is understood to have already expressed his dissatisfaction with the current situation at Old Trafford, with the Portuguese’shocked’ by the drop in standards since his return to the club.
Meanwhile, compatriot Bruno Fernandes has expressed concern that manager Solskjaer does not provide his players with a “clear plan of action” when they take to the field.
As Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail reported earlier today, Solskjaer summoned six members of his squad to a private meeting at Carrington for “crisis talks.”
Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Victor Lindelof, and captain Harry Maguire were among the stars in question.

Solskjaer is said to be doing everything he can to turn things around, and he hopes to kickstart United’s season with victories over the Hornets and Villarreal in the Champions League next Tuesday.
The club’s board has so far resisted the temptation to fire the Norwegian manager, but their options may be limited if results continue to fall short.
It remains to be seen whether Solskjaer’s latest approach has the desired effect, as the Red Devils return to Premier League action this weekend against Watford following their international break.
